We are hands on and involved in all aspects of the farm
We host workers on our farm that are members of Willing Workers on Organic Farms to assist us with harvest and the processing of lavender products.
Heather Walford set up Nannup Lavender Farm on the 16 acre property 12 kms south east of Nannup in 1999. The property is situated on two major tourist routes Previously this property was a barren abandoned paddock. Heather met Rob Marshall in 2002 and together they have built the farm into an attractive stop for people touring the south west inland region Rob brought with him his tractor from Busselton a sturdy Massey Ferguson!
There is much life on the farm with chooks and turkeys but the prize animal and queen of the estate is Lily the Border Collie, she will if allowed greet you with much enthusiasm. Sometimes we have baby animals and they go on display down by the tearooms and near the children’s area.
We have wildlife that visits at night only A big mob of Kangaroos every morning and night feeds on our paddocks. We have also recently seen our own Chuditch!
Sustainability is our goal. We aim to ensure that the farm is self sustaining. We collect all our own water and grow food in our vegetable patch. We have a solar passive environmentally friendly home. We do most things ourselves and source as many inputs we can from local sources.
We collect all our own water from rainwater storing it in tanks and we have a large dam. We generate our own energy from our solar generation unit.
